Getting started

Getting started with PlanSend

PlanSend takes about ten minutes to set up. Sign in, name your first brand, connect one social account, and write a post. This page walks through the whole path once.

1. Sign in

Go to plansend.io/login and choose Continue with Google. PlanSend asks Google only for your name, email address and profile picture, and Google must report the address as verified. There is no PlanSend password.

The first time you sign in, PlanSend creates a brand for you automatically, named after your first name, with the time zone UTC and approvals switched on. Change both in Settings in a moment.

2. Name the brand and set its time zone

A brand is one workspace: one client or one company, with its own calendar, channels, team and posting slots. Open Settings in the sidebar and set:

  1. Brand name — what your team and your reviewers see.
  2. Time zone — every schedule time you type is that brand's local time, so a post set for 10:00 publishes at 10:00 there, before and after the clocks change.
  3. Require approval before scheduling — on by default. While it is on, a post can only be scheduled once the exact revision has been approved.

Read more in Brands, team roles and reviewers.

3. Connect a social account

Open Brands & channels and pick the network. Bluesky and Mastodon connect in seconds; Facebook, Instagram, Threads and LinkedIn use the network's own login screen. The full list of what each network asks for is in Connect a social account to a brand.

4. Write your first post

Select Create post. Give the post a title (your team sees it, the audience does not), write the body, and tick the channels it goes to. If one network needs different wording, open Customise per network and change only that one. Attach images or video if you want to; PlanSend checks every network's rules when you schedule, not when the post goes out.

5. Get it approved

On the post page, select Request review. PlanSend creates a private link that works without a login and shows it once, so copy it straight away. Optionally add a reviewer's email address to have the link sent for you, and a passcode, which is never included in the email.

Your reviewer opens the link, types their name, and approves or requests changes. The approval is tied to that exact revision: if you edit the post afterwards, it returns to draft and needs approving again.

6. Schedule it

Once the post is approved, pick a date and time in the brand's time zone and select Schedule, or use Publish now to go out on the next publisher run, usually within a minute. The post appears on the calendar, and PlanSend publishes it for you.

7. Check that it worked

Open Publishing health to see the queue and every recent attempt, with the live URL of anything that published. If something fails you get an email and an entry in Notifications explaining why, and the post can be fixed and scheduled again without a new review.

Common questions

Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The Free plan includes one brand, three connected channels and 20 posts a calendar month, and it does not expire. You only enter card details when you choose a paid plan.
Do my clients need a PlanSend account?
No. You send them a private review link that opens in any browser. They read the post, leave a comment and approve or request changes without signing in. Reviewers you do invite into the workspace are free on every plan.
Can I sign in without a Google account?
Not today. PlanSend uses Google sign-in only, so there is no PlanSend password to be lost or stolen. Reviewers never need an account at all.
