Scheduling and publishing
Notifications and reconnect reminders
PlanSend tells you about the things you would otherwise have to check for: a client decision, a comment, a failed publish and a connection that is about to expire.
The inbox
Notifications in the sidebar carries an unread badge and lists activity newest first. What appears there:
- A post was approved or sent back for changes, with the reviewer's name and note. Owners and editors, except whoever made the decision.
- A new comment on a post, with who wrote it. Owners and editors.
- A publish failed, with the post, the channel and the reason. Owners.
- A channel needs attention, when a connection is expiring or has been rejected. Owners.
Selecting a row marks it read and opens the thing it is about. Mark all read clears the badge. Nothing is deleted, and the same event never appears twice.
PlanSend emails only what you need to act on:
| Who gets it | When | |
|---|---|---|
| Publishing failed | Every owner of the brand | Once, when a post ends in failure. Retries are silent. |
| Reconnect a channel | Every owner of the brand | Once per channel each time its state changes. |
| Review request | The reviewer you name | When you add an email address while creating a review link. |
| Invitation | The person you invite | When an owner creates the invitation. |
| Welcome | You | Once, on your first sign-in. |
Review passcodes are never emailed. Reviewers using a link are not PlanSend users and are never added to any list.
Reconnect reminders
PlanSend checks your connections about every six hours and reports three situations:
- Expiring — the credentials run out within seven days. Posts already scheduled keep their slot and still publish, but reconnect before the date.
- Expired — the credentials have run out. Posts for that channel will fail until you reconnect.
- Disconnected — the network rejected the credentials, usually because access was revoked on their side.
Reconnecting takes about a minute and keeps every scheduled post, approval and review link exactly as it is. A post that failed while the channel was broken can be scheduled again from its post page, with its approval intact.
The same states appear on the calendar's channel health strip, so you can see them without waiting for an email.
Common questions
- Why do I only see notifications for one brand?
- Notifications belong to a person and a brand, so the inbox shows the brand you are currently in. Switch brands in the sidebar to see the others.
- Can I turn the emails off?
- Not from the interface yet. PlanSend only sends the operational ones — a failed publish, a reconnect reminder, an invitation and a review request — and never marketing email without asking.
- How often do reconnect reminders arrive?
- Once per channel per change of state. A channel that starts expiring is reported once; if it later expires or is rejected, that is reported once too. A channel that becomes healthy again resets, so a future problem is reported afresh.
